The FSA has created a new web site Money Made Clear and have information on Basic Bank Accounts and other financial services.

These accounts are simple to use.

You can pay money in, set up standing orders and
direct debits and get money out using a cash card. You cannot go overdrawn.
It does not cost you anything to open a basic bank account.
