Misleading Debt Managment Firms Shut Down by the Ministry of Justice
Over 100 Misleading Debt mangment firms closed since 1997
One hundred companies offering to write off debts or secure personal injury compensation have been shut down by the Ministry of Justice since April 2007.
The Ministry has found firms breaching rules, taking money up front, issuing misleading literature, operated by people with criminal records and more.
many forms were claiming loopholes in the law that allowed a customer to write off their debt completely or pay only 80% of their debt etc etc. All would be revealed after paying a fee.
There is in our view little point is dealing with these firms if you have not already gone to the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) that should be your first step.
