The YourMoney Tracing Service for lost bank accounts and missing policies.
We have been receiving a number emails from users where they are attempting to trace lost accounts of their own or often of elderly relatives or a deceased relative where they are acting as an executor.
These assets are Lost bank accounts, dormant bank accounts, lost insurance bonds, missing policy documents etc.We have been asked to recommend a service for tracing these and the only firms we can find that are not solicitors that offer this as a stand alone service all appear to operate on the " No trace no fee" basis. They will however take up to 25% of any money found.
Although Yourmoney.co.uk have the resources to carry out this work we will not in any circumstances operate in this way. We can see why a "no trace no fee" service could be attractive to some users but we feel it creates a conflict or a potential conflict of interest.
We may consider offering a service for tracing these lost / dormant bank accounts, bonds lost savings etc for asimple one off flat fee fee.
Before we take this any further it would be useful to know if such a service might be of any interest?
Can you therefore answer the following few questions your feedback will be very helpful in deciding whether or not to offer this as a service.Even if you are not seeking to trace anything at e moment your view on the position where you to did conduct a search would be very helpful.
